Once you've run a Check, you will be presented with a screen showing four tabs:

  1. Regulations

  2. Assessment

  3. Registers

  4. Exports

Regulations

This is the primary tab used within Checker.

You will see a map of the location of the relevant property.

Then follows a plain English explanation of licensing and HMO Article 4 Directions at the specific address:

Finally the Regulations by configuration table shows the various combinations of regulations depending on the occupancy make up of the property:

Assessment

The assessment tab is used to check the licensing regulations of a specific occupancy make up, whereas the Regulations tab tells you the law at the relevant property irrespective of who is in there.

When you navigate to the tab, certain boxes will be highlighted in orange (usually People and Households but others can also be depending on location). These are the data points required in order to advise exactly what licence is required:

In order to check a particular occupancy make up, simply enter values to these fields and hit Save.
