Property Information Fields
The place to update information to understand what licence is needed
There are two updatable property information sections.
For most local authorities, we require at least occupants and household information in order to determine if a licence is required and, if so, which type of licence.
Updating Tenancy Details
Add the occupants and household details to a property and press update.
Your property page will automatically flag if the new tenancy details trigger the need for a different type of licence in the ‘Licence Requirement’ section at the top.
Updating Attributes
Updating attributes is not essential for determining what licence is required, but is useful to add in case your property is exempt from licensing due to special requirements of a specific scheme.
For example, Brighton and Hove’s additional scheme only applies to properties with two or more storeys and some additional schemes can exclude/include S257 HMOs.
Licence Management
Add existing licences or in-progress applications
The licence management section allows you to track your existing licences and applications, and can be found below the attributes and tenancy details sections.
Logging an Application
To log a submitted application on the app, press Log an Application and fill in details such as the licence type, the application date, and any reference number associated with the application.
Your licence management section will now update to show you the status of your application and allow you to take any actions, such as editing it or reporting the licence as granted.
Your property will automatically update to ‘Compliant’ upon submission of an application, as a fine won't be issued while the local authority is processing an application. Your next action will be to report the council’s decision once the licence has been granted or if the application is rejected.
Adding a Granted Licence
Go to your licence management section and press the ‘Report Decision’ button in the actions panel if you have already logged an application.
If you haven’t logged an application already but have a granted licence, press ‘Upload a licence’
From here, fill in the details of the granted licence. Update the licence type, the start and expiry dates of the licence, and the maximum occupants and households allowed by the licence.
Your property will then be flagged as fully compliant, and you won't need to take any action on it unless the tenancy details change or the licence expires
