Log a licence application

Record a submitted licence application against a property

Purpose

This article explains how to log a licence application in Kamma Suite after it has been submitted to the local authority.

What you'll learn

In this article, you'll learn how to:

  • Log a licence application against a property

  • Log an additional licence application when one already exists

  • Understand how a pending application affects compliance status

Steps

Step 1: Open the property record

  • Navigate to the relevant Property page

  • Scroll down to the Licence Management section

Step 2: Log the application

  • Click Log an Application (if no record exists yet), or click the Log a licence application link beneath the table (if a record already exists)

  • Select who applied for the licence

  • Select the licence type

  • Enter the application date (optional)

  • Enter the reference provided by the local authority (optional)

  • Click Log Application

The application is now logged with Kamma and appears as a new row in the table.

Logging additional applications

You can log more than one application per property — for example, a renewal application before an existing licence has expired, or a second application for a different licence type. Each application appears as a separate row in the Licence Management table.

Where more than one record exists, individual rows can also be edited or deleted. See Edit or delete a logged licence application.

How this affects compliance

Local authorities do not penalise properties for which a licence application has been submitted.

As a result:

  • Kamma Suite updates the property status to Compliant

  • The property is treated as compliant while the application is being processed

This helps ensure your compliance view accurately reflects the property's current position.

What happens next

Once the local authority has processed the application:

  • Return to the Property page

  • Add the issued licence details to complete the record

The property's compliance status will continue to update based on the licence information you provide.
