What you'll learn
In this article, you'll learn how to:
Add a licence exemption to a property in Kamma Suite
Specify which licence type is being overridden and set an expiry date for the exemption
Before you start
Licence Exemptions are part of the Kamma Pro tier and must be enabled on your account. If you don't see the Add Licence Exemption button on your property pages, contact us at [email protected] to discuss enabling this feature.
Steps
Step 1: Go to the property page
Open the property you want to add an exemption to.
Click My Portfolio in the left-hand navigation
Find and click on the relevant property to open its Property Compliance Overview
Step 2: Open the Add Licence Exemption modal
Scroll down to the Licence Management section and click Add Licence Exemption.
A pop-up modal titled Add Licence Exemption will appear.
Step 3: Fill in the exemption details
Complete the fields in the modal:
Licence exemption or override reason (required) — enter the reason this property is exempt. For example: "Landlord selling the property"
Licence required for this property (optional) — select None if the property is exempt and does not require a licence, select Mandatory, Additional, or Selective if you wish to override the licence requirement Kamma has determined.
Exemption valid until (optional) — enter the date the exemption expires. Leave blank if the exemption has no end date.
Step 4: Save the exemption
Click Save Exemption to record the exemption against the property.
To discard without saving, click Cancel.
What happens next
Once added, the licence exemption will show in the Licence Management section of the property page.
The property's compliance status is immediately updated to Compliant and the cards at the top of the page indicate there's no licence required because an exemption is in place. You can see the original licence requirement with a strike though the text.
Important notes
Pro tier feature — Licence Exemptions are not available on all Kamma accounts. Contact [email protected] if you'd like to enable this for your account.
Exemption expiry — If you set an Exemption valid until date, the property will become Non-Compliant once that date passes until a licence application or granted licence is added.
